Care Homes

We’re worried about our loved ones.

  • In May 2020, 36% of care homes had already experienced an outbreak of COVID-19.

  • 35% of deaths from COVID-19 have been in care homes.

  • Vaccines alone can’t guarantee safety, especially against new global COVID-19 variants.

  • Contamination of commonly touched surfaces is an important factor in the transmission of COVID-19.

We apply a self-disinfecting copper coating to most touch points, creating a safer home for residents and a safer workplace for carers.

We have entered into a strategic partnership with Care Shop and Delivered Health Solutions. The companies are part of Bunzl plc, a FTSE 100 company, and are one of the UK’s largest suppliers of healthcare products and cleaning solutions to care homes, GP surgeries, clinics, and hospitals. The companies deliver services to over 4,000 care homes.

Care homes should be safe.

Care home residents are especially vulnerable to infections and diseases, as they may be elderly, frail, or have underlying conditions.

Infections can spread rapidly in care homes due to close contact between residents, and without adequate infection control, carers can unintentionally contribute to spreading infections between residents.

Educational interventions on hand hygiene can help, but are not sufficient on their own.

Staff Safety Counts.

The social care sector has had inadequate access to PPE, and vaccination among care home workers is slow. The safety of care home staff is just as important as the safety of the residents, and care home staff can be just as vulnerable.

COVID-19 Isn’t The Only Problem.

Care home residents are also at risk of outbreaks of other infectious diseases caused by common viruses and bacteria, including:

  • Influenza

  • Streptococcus pneumonia

  • Group A Streptococci

  • Gastroenteritis caused by Clostridium difficile

  • C. perfringens and norovirus

  • Multi-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

We can help.

We provide a cost-effective, cutting-edge solution to prevent tactile transmission of COVID-19 and other diseases.

Why is our method more cost effective? We provide an equal level of effectiveness as a solid copper surface, with less than half the material.

Surfaces we protect include:

  • Door handles

  • Hand rails

  • Taps

  • Light switches

  • Toilet flushes

We cover fittings with anti-microbial copper via our mobile spray units, which means that no space is required on location, and no mess is left behind.
